Recycling
Twice a year this town we’re living in has a “special” garbage pickup week. It’s an opportunity to put out any of those bulky items (except for things considered hazardous, which believe me encompasses a lot!) that the garbage truck normally won’t take. You’re instructed to have everything out at the curb by 6:00am Monday morning and the town will come pick your junk up before the end of the week.
The reality is that it is a golden opportunity for scavenging. I have really enjoyed watching how quickly the piles at the ends of people’s driveways shrink over the week. We have a very small and lowly pile of real junk and already the only “good” items (some baskets) have been whisked away.
Recycling at its best.
