I am heading off to the Bead & Button Show tomorrow. I am taking this year’s Master Class with Arline Fisch on Textile Techniques with Metal. Check out her beautiful new book Crocheted Wire Jewelry. It’s lovely. I wish I felt confident with crochet stitches. Unfortunately I’ve only had one quick lesson with yarn. That, and I can do bead crochet, but I have to do that painstakingly, a single stitch at a time in a sort of knitty way.
So I am a bit nervous, but very excited about the Master Class. I’m also taking a 2 day Cold Connections class with Chris Darway. Rio Grande is sponsoring the class and I got a lovely reminder e-mail that they would be providing all the tools and supplies and I only had to bring my “desire to learn”. I love that! And I’m signed up for a 3 hour evening class on a peyote stitch variation, but I’m really not sure about that one. I think I should have picked something more basic.
I love going to the Bead & Button Show. It’s fun to see old friends, take amazing classes and the bead shopping is fantastic. It’s total bead emersion.
I am feeling a bit guilty this simply because the timing is so bad with our move. I come home Sunday night and the packers will be here Monday morning! eek!
I am trying to put all thoughts of the move out of my head and simply enjoy the week. Keep your fingers crossed that I can manage it.
