Lesson learned

by Libby on November 15, 2006

My sister came to visit me and spurr me on to finish more of the unpacking. She’s really great at lighting a fire under me when it comes to unpacking moving boxes. I had been procrastinating hanging pictures on the wall, waiting for her help. So Monday we had a marathon picture hanging day. Altogether we hung 20 pictures, including a couple of large and heavy pieces. It helps that we have a pretty similar eye for where things should go. It’s amazing how much happier and more like “home” the house feels with art up on the walls.

We did have one mishap though. I was pulling and old picture hook out of the wall above the tiny desk we use for the laptop. The nail came out, but the hook itself fell, plop, right into the little inkjet printer. Attempts to remove it only lodged it deeper, and in the process I killed the printer. grrr… Who knew it was so hard to find an inkjet printer that is just a printer? lol I finally found a reasonably priced HP. It takes up a bit more room than the old one. Oh well. I’ve learned my lesson. Move all electronic items away from the area when removing nails or hooks. (insert wry smile here)

Creative progress and work on the studio are going to have to take a back seat to getting the house ready for Thanksgiving.
