Drive By Post

by Libby on June 8, 2007

This is going to be a quick “drive-by” post so I can head out to class. Yesterday afternoon I was in Anne Mitchell’s Viking Knit Chain. Ok, it really was as easy as my friends have been telling me.  It helped to have someone show the technique in real life though. Anne Mitchell is a very entertaining teacher. It made for a quick and fun afternoon. You should check out her kits and tools on her website. She has some wonderful things for sale.

My table mate for the class was a lampwork artist from the Seattle area, Kathy Johnson, who specializes in horse beads. Not only are her beads magical and beautiful, (I’m coveting a spirit horse) but she was a really fun peron to talk to as we worked along on our wire weaving. It’s a gift to spend a few hours with an interesting and funny stranger.

Last night was the shopping preview for the registered attendees. The usual crush at the opening time I’m sure, but Diane, Evalie, Patti and I were off enjoying a nice dinner at the Thai restaurant. Then we went to the show floor afterward, when the crowds had thinned out a bit.

Well, I’ve got to head out to class. This morning’s class is over in the Hyatt so I have a bit of a hike. I’ll try to add some links later and maybe a post about Bead Dreams.
