Small Bites

by Libby on July 31, 2007

I need to learn to work in small bites.

I have the luxury of long blocks of time to spend in my studio during the school year. Consequently I tend to think that it’s harder to be creative in small bites of time. But my attitude needs some adjustment if I am going to get anything done in the summer.

Summer is all about interruptions and changes in course.  Running here and there.  Lots of driving, driving to drop one kid off and driving to go fetch the other.  My days are broken up into a zillion little blocks of time.  I need to start using some of the free blocks for art because the errand running is sucking me dry.

I spend a fair amount thinking about designs/ideas I’d like to try, but zero time creating.  I need to fix that.

On a completely different note, have you seen the announcement about the presenters for the Synergy Conference the National Polymer Guild is hosting in February?  It looks really exciting.  It’s such a tease giving us just the names of the presenters, but not the topics for the seminars & panel discussions.

Preach it sister!

This summer has been a screaming nightmare on getting much of any thing creative done at all. I am in the car so much that I have a ton of ideas, by the time I get to a place to safely write them down…they have moved on to the next car .

This too shall pass!

I am counting the days until school starts….14!
