Silent Studio

I haven’t done any work in the studio for quite awhile. Essentially I stopped just before my surgery and I haven’t gotten back into the creative flow again. Writing about my creativity has forced me to look at my studio habits and realize that creativity is just that: a habit. If […]

5 Friday Favorites - Mixed Media Blogs

Sometimes every day life is just at odds with the artistic process.  I am caught up in a maelstrom of parenting issues and mundane every day tasks.  Actually I find the mundane tasks of life to be the perfect pass time when I am stressed out, but I hate having to ignore that tiny voice […]

Car Wonderings

I’ve been driving around a fair amount already today (two trips to the middles school before 10:30 a.m.!), thinking about artistic “choices”.  There’s the choice to be an artist.  Okay, some would argue that really isn’t a choice, more of a drive or passion, but I do think somewhere along the line there was a […]

On The Mend

Just a quick post to say that the surgery went well and I am on the mend.  Thanks very much for all the well wishes.  The whole thing was much easier than I expected.  I’m still sore, but it’s quite manageable.  I am the instant gratification kid, so I am impatient to get back to […]

Goodbye Gallbladder

I have been listening to a lot of show tunes in my studio lately and the title of this post keeps echoing in my head like a melody from “A Chorus Line”.  Anyway, I am having my gallbladder removed on Thursday. Hopefully that will take care of much of what has been bothering […]

A Rivet Runs Through It

Sorry, I just couldn’t resist the title.  I have a love/hate relationship with rivets.  I love how they function and I love the look, but I struggle with getting them so they look right.  I suspect some of the challenge I am experiencing comes from the fact that I am often riveting directly into polymer […]
