The hamster wheel

I am feeling a bit like a hamster on one of those wheels lately.  It feels like I am busy, busy, but I don’t seem to be getting anywhere.  The days just seem to be full of stuff, work for the guild retreat, details & activities to do with E’s upcoming high school graduation, the […]

Class bracelets

Last weekend I taught a Cane Slice Caterpillar Bracelet class at the So. CT Polymer Clay Guild’s annual Weekend of Clay. It’s not a difficult project, just a bit time consuming. We were working primarily in black and white so it was a bit tricky seeing the black thread against the black beads. […]

SCPCG 10 Year Anniversary Celebration

The Southern Connecticut Polymer Clay Guild celebrated our 10 year Anniversary a few weeks ago. The photos have been hiding on my camera, so I thought I would share the lovely display of members’ work. They’re not stellar photos, but they give you the flavor of the displays.

Jewelry Hazard

Today I experienced an unanticipated hazard of wearing this pendant:

I am hoping it will fade quickly. Either that, or this will be the only necklace I wear for awhile! […]

The winds of change […]

Weekend Retreat - Klay Karma

I spent this weekend at Rivier College in Nashua, NH at the Klay Karma Polymer Clay Retreat. It was great! It’s really fun to gather a group of polymer clay enthusiasts (fanatics?) together for a weekend like that. This retreat had the perfect pace for me, time to mingle and chat, meet […]

Guild meetings

We had a meeting of the Southern Connecticut Polymer Clay Guild this weekend. It had been a couple of months since I had last been to a meeting, due to family obligations and that freak St Patrick’s weekend snowstorm. Last year, while we were living in New Jersey, I couldn’t make meetings in […]

Sculpey Ultralight, a bit more

Angela of CraftyGoat’s Notes (fun blog, btw) posed a question about release agents for Sculpey Ultralight polymer clay in the comments on a previous post. The release agent that has worked the best for me so far has been cornstarch or cornstarch baby powder. (the baby powder version seems to clump less) If […]

The National Polymer Clay Guild

Check out the new NPCG website. If you looked around recently, go back and explore some more. Barbara Forbes-Lyon has done a great job and there’s a lot of new content. There’s also some lovely new eye candy in the form of page banners featuring NPCG members’ work.
Recently, I read a post […]
